JUST DO IT!!!!
I looked up tons of reviews and different pump options trying to make my little pump that came with my 22x52 Coleman pool work I have bad well water and have spent tons of money on phosphate treatments metal removers etc... Everyone I know said if I upgrade to a sand pump it will change everything so I started looking into sand pumps I was reading the reviews on this one and it really gave me the dream of a blue pool in 3 days and it definitely did not disappoint I would recommend this pump to anybody and not even bother with those pumps that come with the pool well well worth the money! These pictures don't even show the exact because my camera is not that good but I definitely went from frustrated over two weeks of trying to get my pool up and going I bought this pump and in three days as the other reviews say definitely cleared my water! For the first time I went to pinch a Penny to get my water sample and all I needed was chlorine whereas before as I mentioned I had to purchase this and that every single time I went they had me putting in tons of acid phosphate remover metals remover this pump definitely changed everything I would most definitely recommend it's easier to maintain when it's time to clean the filter you simply back wash it after the first three days I left it running 24 hours after that I run at 8 hours I had to backwash it a total of 2 to 3 times it's been about a week and it's still showing no backwash needed it has an automated timer I no longer have to come and turn the pump on and off it does it by itself I haven't had it for that long but I definitely feel it's a quality pump it seems pretty durable and the pressure coming out is way more than what came with the pool!

This SX3000 Much Better Than the SX2100!
The Intex 20' X 48" above ground ultra frame pool I bought this year came with a sand filter pump, a SX2100 that holds 50 pounds of sand. It barely kept up but did work. This is an SX3000 pump that holds 121 pounds of sand. Much, much better! It came with all 3 hoses (including the short one) and the assembly that goes through the side of the pool for the pump discharge (the inside aerator portion is larger). The base is bigger, so I had to modify the one I had already made. This SX3000 runs considerable stronger than the SX2100. Now the split suction (Y) supports the use of the old pool's skimmer on just one of the 1.25" suctions!Note: When taking apart the old pump I found the strainer/filter under the 6-way valve was plugged with cottonwood cotton. Its slits are smaller than any of the strainer/filters that come upstream from it. The cottonwood cotton catches in both directions. There is nothing in the manual about the need to check the strainer/filter under the 6-way valve. OTH, if I had cleaned it out I might not have gotten this much better size of pump!

GAME CHANGER
I cannot say enough good things about the sand filter! We replaced the original filter that came with our pool, and honestly—this thing cost more than the pool itself and is probably bigger than we technically needed… but I’m SO glad we made the switch. Our water has never looked better. The difference was almost immediate. The old filter just couldn’t keep up, and I was constantly fighting with cloudy water and algae. Since installing the sand filter, it’s been crystal clear with barely any effort on my part. It’s quiet, powerful, and easy to operate. I love that I don’t have to constantly change or clean out cartridges—just backwash, rinse, and you’re good to go.The build quality is solid, and you can just tell it’s made to last. Honestly, I wish I had done this sooner. Even if you have a smaller pool, this filter is a smart investment. You’ll save time, money, and frustration in the long run.Bottom line: If you’re on the fence—just get it. You will NOT regret it. Five stars all the way!

Quiet, efficient pump with timer
I got this pump for a smaller pool that it is rated for. The pool is only 1000 gallons and this is for 1500 gallons per hour. However, I bought this one because it has a timer on it. I can set it to run for 3 hours at a specific start time, and it goes on everyday without needing to worry about it. Plus, it was only about $30 more than a good pump rated for 1000 gallons.I live in an extremely hot climate and having a good pump saves me money on pool chemicals. I had a smaller round pool with only about 800 gallons with the 900 gallon pool pump. It didn’t have a timer so if I went out of town, I had to dump a bunch of chemicals in it when I got back. The smaller one also didn’t keep the water clear. For chemicals, I only have one 2” chlorine tab in a floater and it does the job.A few things to note though, using it on a smaller pool meant that I had to get a hose B adapter from 1.5” to 1.25” to use with the pools smaller inlets. (See pictures). I also had a leak between the pump and the tank, so I had to take it apart and tighten it again. I think it might have been because I didn’t have the tube at the right angle, so keep that in mind. This is a great pump. It’s quiet, efficient, and good value for the money.

Green pool turned clear!
It did what we needed it to do which was turn our swamp green pool, crystal clear again! We got lazy and left our pool uncovered this winter which resulted in green water full of debris. About 2 weeks of running the pump ~12 hrs/day (plus a few shock and algaecide treatments) brought it back to life.My only complaint is that this newer model doesn't seem much of an upgrade. We had the previous model (SF60110-2) for 8 years. It still worked great but we needed to change out the sand this year so we decided to just upgrade the whole pump. This model not only has a much smaller filter tank, but the pump also makes less power and it did not include an inlet plunger valve and strainer. We decided to use the old tank and will keep the new one as a backup. Either way, it definitely did the job and helped us meet our goal of having the pool open for Memorial Day weekend!
