Short companion book
We love our Olivia book and thought to expand the collection. Should’ve read reviews closely to see this is a companion book. It’s very short in length and smaller in size compared to the original. With that said, it goes over opposites. Up/down, quiet/loud, open/close ... etc. Very cute, but doesn’t count as a full book at bedtime lol.

Just pictures and words
Board books are great for my toddler that loves to flip through books. This one only has one word per page along with an illustration (minus one double page that shows two words per page). I thought this was ok until I saw the Sandra Boynton Opposites book that shows opposites and illustrations but puts them into a rhyme pattern while you read. It makes the "story" flow a lot better and much more enjoyable to read. The only good point is that these are more durable than the Sandra Boynton books. They are used the same throughout the day and the covers have withstood playing and reading time whereas the Boynton covers are losing the cover's color at the binding.

Nice little book
My 3 year old grandchild loves this as the pictures come from other Olivia books and she likes to identify their origin as we read. She also is beginning to read and likes the simple format with words she can read from memory. Certainly not a good book for older kids as there is no story line- as with most of these types of books.

Excellent book
Every child in the toddler room at daycare stops what they are doing to listen when I read this book. It might be the only book they pay attention to as a class. They laugh so hard at “quiet LOUD”

Not my child's favorite but she loves everything Olivia.
My daughter likes all things Olivia, including this book. I got the board book version because my daughter is quite destructive, and it has held up well. It is not her favorite Olivia book, as she prefers the larger and longer ones, but this is still nice to have in the collection.

Olivia the pig
We are addicted to the Olivia books in our house. They are so clever and enjoyable for adults who have to keep reading them. My daughter loves her namesake pig and this book was fun as was one of the first Olivia books she read at about 1 year. The pictures are so simple but project the meaning of the opposites so clearly and at so many levels. They are a great taster for the story books that we later read when she was a little older. Best of all, it is a board book, (all toddler books should be board books - what is the point of the flimsy paperback ones?)This one has been on all sorts of trips and the binding is still intact.Ian Falcomer is a genius. The Olivia cartoons are amongst the best in children's TV cartoons (thank goodness they are dubbed) but the original Falconer material is unbeatable.

Never too old to learn!
I can now confidently identify opposites thanks to brilliant little Olivia. This book is the OPPOSITE of awful.(See what I did there?!)

Olivia
Good little book to explain that all things aren't even remotely the same. Opposites in fact. Love the little pictures.
