I was going to wait a while to post this review to verify what's been happening since I started taking this. But it really has been incredible and I have no reason to believe it won't continue.Bear in mind that my situation may be a bit unusual. I have been a vegetarian for over thirty years, a vegan for the last five. But that all changed on 31 March 2022 when I suffered a nearly fatal heart attack - the dreaded "widow maker." Life sent a clear message that changes were in order.In the aftermath of this experience, I soon discovered that there are two main paths to follow in recovery: the high carb, low-fat approach endorsed by famous doctors like Dr Dean Ornish; or the low-carb, high fat, ketogenic diet people are raving about.Both methods have their benefits. But after being vegan and still ending up with high cholesterol and fatty liver disease, I wanted to go a different route. Change everything.This is a long way of saying that I think my body has been missing key nutritional components for years. Since eliminating carbs and processed foods, I switched to pasture-raised, grass-fed butter, yogurt and cheeses with pretty spectacular results. I dropped 35 pounds. My cholesterol numbers are great. And I'm beyond satisfied with what I eat. It's been a gamechanger.After reading about the benefits of collagen, I really wanted to give it a try. I was thrilled to find this grass-fed product available (it's also kosher, but says nothing about pasture-raised). I couldn't wait to start.It's partly due to taking this collagen that I am now convinced that I have been nutrient deprived for years. Because my skin is suddenly softer. My nails are growing like wild. My eyebrows are sprouting. I feel like a neglected plant that received water and sunlight. I feel alive again.People comment that my skin glows. I have to trim my nails frequently. I need a haircut. Maybe I was a terrible vegan. I am very pleased with this collagen supplement as an addition to my daily collagen supplementation regime. I take multiple collagen supplements/drinks as part of my daily vitamin regimen to help support my health as someone disabled by a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type one (classical type). This is a hereditary disorder that affects the connective tissues (primarily collagen); my body produces enough collagen, but the collagen produced is faulty.Theoretically, normal consumption of collagen supplements should not be helpful to me; however, my physician, along with the guidance of a nutritionist who specializes in this disorder, has me on a vitamin and mineral protocol that is specific to this disorder. This protocol has me ingesting much higher amounts of collagen than most people do or would even need in one day, and I have found that to be remarkably effective in helping keep the skin problems I experience with Ehlers-Danlos under control, plus it helps with hair and nails as well as the chronic joint pain and the other effects I experience on a daily basis.This particular collagen supplement is quite good on several levels! One is convenience. I love that it is in capsule form, so it’s not another drink that I have to take. Another is that it’s super easy to swallow. I sometimes have swallowing difficulties, but these capsules always go down very easily. A third positive is that this supplement is actually a potent dose of collagen - many of the collagen that come in pill or capsules don’t have much collagen peptides or protein in them, but this one does, which makes it a great one for someone who really NEEDS the collagen! This last point is the greatest plus for me and the biggest reason I recommend this supplement to anyone, but especially to those who are looking at this product for the purposes of a specific health boosting regimen. I've been taking collagen supplements for years now as a beauty product, and they've made a huge difference in my hair, nails, and skin. But effects take a long time to show up (at least six months for me), so be patient.These grass-fed collagen supplements seem fine. Easy to swallow, with no stomach upset. Multiple types of protein too.

This is an average collagen supplement. I do not directly notice any difference when taking them, but that does not mean it isnt helping. It just seems like any other mid-range collagen I have taken. I generally prefer my collagen supplements to have more types included, otherwise I simply take an additional dose of what is missing.

Hearthy Foods is a great company with awesome customer service, we have been getting their products for a few years now. We love their powdered collagen and gelatin in smoothies and for gummies and pancakes. When I saw that they have a large bottle of collagen in capsule form, I got excited because now I can take it even when I don't use it in smoothies and cooking. I am almost done with my bottle now and I noticed that my usually very slow-growing hair has been growing so much faster as well as my nails. I am happy with it, the price is awesome for the large jar of capsules and the quality of collagen that you get.
