Works for the tilted cervix folks too! Needed to get the hang of it but is pretty life-changing
The first time after I inserted this, I felt like I was going to throw up. But I hung in there and I don't know if I got the hang of inserting it better over the next few times (probably somewhat), or if my sensitive body adjusted to the feeling of having something sitting there over the next few hours. I do likely have endometriosis (unconfirmed but that's coming from my gynaecologist and I have a family history of endo on my dad's side as well), so that may have contributed to the weird/pukey feeling.I was very on the fence about trying these as I wasn't sure if these would work for me due to my weird internal shape and other issues but I'm so happy to report that they did and I wanted to leave a review to help others with the same questions. I have a tilted cervix (anteverted uterus) as well as vaginismus and pelvic pain. I sometimes have trouble/pain inserting even a slender tampon, and tampons also make my cramps worse so I have been trying to get away from them (as well as disposable period products more generally for any environmental reasons). Plus, as most of my period is huge clots (at least for the first couple of days), tampons just do not work well for me and I feel that they actually make my bloating worse also. I actually felt like my cramps were not so severe with this product as they are sometimes with pads or tampons, but it could have just been the case where that cycle was not as bad.I had tried Bambody period underwear and loved it (highly recommend), but I was getting sick of the mess and having to change underwear several times per day on my heavy days. The period underwear is also reasonably practical while at home (which I was full-time during Covid anyway), but not so much when I go back to in-person engineering college. I had really wanted to try a menstrual cup for a while but was hesitant due to the high price points (particularly for the “specialised fit” options), and fear that they just wouldn't work for me.I liked that this was a lower-risk option financially (and I could offer the unused ones to a friend or donate them if they didn't work for me) so I decided to go for it with the idea that if this worked for me, maybe it would be a good stepping stone to try a "real" menstrual cup at some point (I'd been interested in the shape of the Ziggy Intima cup). I had also had read the review by JC re: using one disposable cup per cycle and liked that idea for both environmental and financial reasons, so I tried that and it worked very well for me (i.e., just use one as a regular menstrual cup for your entire cycle, rinsing as you are able, then throw it away at the end of your cycle). I actually *think* the “ring” part might be able to be recycled, so I was going to take either it apart and try that, or just wash the whole thing with soap and water and put it in the plastics bin as I believe it is all plastic. While this doesn’t help me get away from disposable period products 100%, it was something that actually worked well for me and my weird body and it is awesome to only have one disposable product per cycle as opposed to a bunch!A couple of notes for people with really tilted cervixes: The "cup" part may not expand based on your shape and therefore may not collect as much fluid as reported or last quite as long with no emptying. I tried inserting a few different ways but I could never get the pouch to expand for me. For me that wasn’t really a huge issue though, as on my heavy days I am constantly running to the bathroom anyway so I can just “bear down” a little to empty the excess every few hours. I also never had any issues with it leaking overnight, although I would definitely use a backup method to be safe.A couple of notes for people with vaginismus/tight perineal muscles: If you can’t insert a tampon at all, this product might not work for you, but it also might. I still found it slightly painful to insert, but less so than a tampon and I think it slides a little easier, particularly if you can get the hang of it. It does look huge, but it squishes up quite nicely. If you are really on the fence, for most people $14 is a worthwhile risk to take so I would say just try it and if it doesn’t work, you probably didn’t lose too much by trying. Also, consider trying pelvic PT if you haven’t as it might help with some of your pelvic floor symptoms (including vaginismus, constantly feeling like you need to pee, or trouble pooping).

Honest Review - from a mom who used tampons, cups and discs
I’ve been meaning to review this product since the very first time I used them. I kept forgetting but I realized I needed to make this review a priority- especially to give input for those of you who are on the fence.Let me start - I have a 15yo and a 4yo. I had a tubal ligation done after my last child was born. My periods have been insane since then. You know the bleeding you have after giving birth - honestly that’s how my periods have been ever since. Prior to having my last child (I was 30 when I had her), my periods had always been light and short. I was super lucky. I had my daughter and my periods have been so heavy ever since. When I say I soak through a super plus tampon in an hour or two on my heaviest days, I mean it. I was not only going through so many tampons, but I was having to wear super absorbent diapers.. I mean pads to catch what leaked because usually 4 out of 7 days that I menstruate, it’s heavy. Not just blood but clots. It’s horrible. Honestly, I consider getting an IUD not to prevent pregnancy, but possibly to lighten my periods because it’s ridiculous. Anyways, about two years ago I started seeing people recommend menstrual cups. I decided to see what the hype was about. They definitely took some trail and error - and even a trip to the urgent care to have one removed that somehow slid sideways and suctioned sideways that made it impossible for me to remove. But even after that, I still used them regularly because they did make it possible to go more than an hour or two without stressing about leaking. On my heaviest days, I was probably going about 4/5hours without having to remove the cup. I was actually happy with that. But even after over a year of using them, sometimes I still had issues with getting the placement correct. I do have a tilted cervix if that makes a difference. Anyways, several months ago I started seeing info regarding these “menstrual discs” that was of course marketed safe and mess free to use during sex. Well I’m not going to lie, that wasn’t the part that intrigued me. The part that made me interested was the fact that it was a flat disc and if it allowed a penis to enter your vagina without issues, I thought maybe I could finally stop using pads and panty liners as back up and use a light tampon instead. There were two brands at the time this brand and another. I went with this brand because it was cheaper and had two more discs included. In my mind I was thinking about how I’m usually menstruating for 7 days and these say they can work up to 12 hours - so I am thinking these would get me through my heaviest days at least, even if I’m having to remove way before 12 hours. So I ordered them and they arrived. When I first opened one, I did get a little shocked by the size. I mean I’ve had two kids but the size was intimidating. However, they’re flexible and when you squeeze it together to insert, it’s not bad at all. There is a time here and there that it may hurt just a tiny bit inserting because the length when squeezed together is quite long but once it’s in, it is so easy to position in place. You just take your finger and push the lip that’s closest to the front of your vagina until it kind of hooks behind your pelvic bone. Reading the instructions didn’t make sense until I actually inserted it and felt my pelvic bone and realized what they were talking about. But it slides right behind there and once it’s there I feel absolutely nothing. It is amazing. And let me say that even on my heaviest day, I’m probably able to keep it in for about 8-10 hours without leaking. I don’t even use a backup tampon like I originally bought these for because it’s not even needed. These have completely changed my life. I am such an active person and am always doing outdoor things, so to be able to go swimming or hiking etc and not have to stress or cancel because of my period is awesome and game changing. I have yet to have sex with one but honestly, I don’t think I would unless I just put a new one in. The only issue I have occasionally is if I have one in and I am using the bathroom and push down, once in a while it break the seal and everything inside comes pouring out. So I usually just remove it before going and insert a new one when finished. When you remove it, all you have to do is put your finger on the lip and push down like your using the bathroom and pull it forward and it comes right out. I usually pull mine out with my right hand while holding a wad of toilet paper in my left hand, dump the contents into the toilet once I have it out and then slowly place it on the toilet paper, wrap it and toss in the trash. I know this is a lot of TMI but I wanted to be honest and share my experience. I will never use a tampon again. I will never use a cup again unless I happen to run out of these and am waiting for an order to come in. And honestly I never have to wear pads as back up either. If you’re debating - just do it. You won’t regret it. I also included photos of how much liquid these discs can hold compared to a cup. It’s triple the amount. That means if your cup is only getting you through 4 hours, this should get you through 12. Again, they seriously changed my life by allowing me that bit of freedom during the week I’m on my period every month that I never could have before.
