these set of speakers will fall within the perfect equipment that you require
If you are looking to create a premium home theater space, these set of speakers will fall within the perfect equipment that you require. The speakers are solid, sturdy, and somewhat heavy in order to maintain the highest fidelity and minimize distortion. Installation is easy and painless. Tucking the wiring inside your walls or ceilings might become cumbersome, but once the job is finished, the results are AMAZING!Please note that these speakers are a good fit for shelf free standing, since they have a rubberized base. If you are planning an in-wall or in-ceiling installation, you need Bose's specialized mounts. These will provide the support required for these beautiful system. If you are looking for a flush install for walls, the Bose® SlideConnect™ WB-50 wall bracket is what you need (usually for front and center speakers). For the surround / rear speakers you will want UB-20 Series II wall/ceiling bracket, since you can adjust, and tilt to your desired angle.Note that you still need a receiver for this system. I paired mine with the Sony STR-DN85.The receiver is a 7.2 Ch receiver, but it will know the amount of speakers you have connected to it based on its auto-calibration capabilities. It also offers an equalizer for each individual speaker, allowing you to customize your listening experience. The Acoustimass 10 Bass and LFE module is a big boy. Granted, this only guarantees distortion-free low and very high volumes. It can be hidden if you have furniture that allows it, or an inconspicuous built in cabinet. Bose recommends setting the module in the corner of a room, but honestly, these speaker system's signal processing is so accurate, that regardless of the module's position, you will enjoy it and either low or high volumes.Premium product, warranty and support. You can't go wrong.

Great sound in an expensive, stylish package
Pros:- Great sound, especially for movies- Deep bass, sharp treble- Compact design- Wall mounting gives professional lookCons:- Expensive- Messy, proprietary wiring- Brackets/stands are expensive- Lacks warmth (especially midtones)Conclusion:Despite my minor quibbles, I'm very happy with this system. If you're looking for great sound in a compact system from a brand associated with luxury, then the Bose Acoustimass 10 Series V will suit you nicely; audiophiles and those on a budget should look elsewhere. Receiver used: Marantz NR1509.

Bose Acoustimass 10 Series V Home Theater review
These speakers sound great. I have them attached to my Sony Multi Channel AV Receiver STR-DN1040. I have always been a Bose Speaker fan and have owned 901's, wave radio, and Acoustimass V when they first came out. These speakers replaced the Acoustimass V which actually still sound good (20+ years old). The big difference for me is the base module. Throws out way more base than the original Acoustimass V base module. Easy to setup and plenty of speaker wire for the base module and rear surround sound speakers.

For the money you'd spend on this, get something else--something new.
It didn't come with a manual. I had to call Bose and they emailed me one. I bought this used and it looks it. Some chipping on the subwoofer, and the speakers have a plug in the back. Really sucks because you have to use cable with that plug. Sound is good but not for the cost. It seems to have some kind of safety limit or something that prevents the volume from being turned all the way up. I don't have a computer down in the mancave so I have to print out the manual, or at least the part that I need, to figure out how to operate the system fully. Pain in the azz.

The subwoofer is the problem
I have had mine for 3 years now and the sound is ok but The subwoofer cut off frequently, It cuts off when ever it’s on and you have to disconnect and reconnect to power for it to come for another 2 minutes.

Bose is only an advertisers dream!
I always wondered why people hated Bose so much-now I know. With a prewired house the 'extras' needed are never ending. And when you get those extras they may or may not help. The instructions are not good with prewired and you end up with a snarl, worse than usual, of all the 'squids'. The 'crickets' I had to buy didn't fit well into the backs of the speakers and at that point I returned all the speakers. I'm stuck with all the 'extras' because Amazon wouldn't take them back even though they were ordered at the same time but got here first. Save yourself some trouble and buy a 'real' system from a reputable manufacturer!

and use good crimp connections or solder
I always wanted one of these systems. Wish I had sprung for it earlier. Worth the higher price (than other brands). As for the special connectors used on the speaker wiring, if I needed to lengthen or shorten the lengths of the wires, I just cut somewhere in-between the factory ends and added or subtracted wire. Just be sure to keep the polarity straight, and use good crimp connections or solder.
